"Rebecca Magby was very personable and efficient helping me with my son's problems. Even though she wasn't there, I never felt like I wasn't important. There was no hesitation with answers or telling me that something might be odd. For instances, I expressed that I would be very happy once daycare was over. She immediately wanted to know why and helped me pin point exactly why I didn't want him in daycare. Knowing that I have to have daycare she promptly offered alternatives. Even though, I had already read about the co-op idea of childcare and found I don't prefer it, Rebecca was able to suggest alternatives. We came back to the current daycare option being the best, she helped me see that at least there are other options out there and to make sure that I am more assertive with naptimes, diaper changes, etc.

I like that she offers a lot of options but doesn't push them on me. It's nice to know that there is someone who can help to weed through all the information out there for kids and give it to you in a comprehensible way. To have someone professional doing that can help a parent make a better informed decision. Therefore, improving the relationship between parent and child.

She really knew how to punctuate what important information I'd need to know in a way that I can recall it later, even if I was upset or flustered. I really believe this can help parents. It's hard not to just panic when your child is doing something you don't like and just respond as your parents did. Rebecca has already changed a lot of my behavior by discussing options with me. Being able to keep calm and not become emotional when someone has a touchy conversation with you is pertinent for this type of job. She does that very well. I feel that my relationship with my son will be vastly different than it was with my parents because I have plenty of resources to pull from.

Also, you can really tell that she does her research on an array of topics regarding children. I felt very comfortable discussing everything with her. I felt that if I was doing some sort of, what most parents would think, an odd diet or discipline she would discuss it with me without putting me down and see if it's the best for my child. If not, then she would work with me to improve upon it.

She seems to have a lot of resources to pull from to be able to make the best decisions about a specific case. I presented several problems to her and she was able to give an answer right away. There was no hemming or hawing about it. I'm sure that if there was a more difficult or odd topic that she would be able research it and be able to relay to me how to handle it.

I feel any parent would be happy and always reassured to have her helping them with their childcare needs."

"I never worked with a parent coach before Rebecca so quite honestly I didn’t know what to expect, I just knew I needed help with my two youngest children. I was completely amazed with the wealth of helpful knowledge Rebecca has. Her ability to individualize us and help create a solution that works best for our family was reassuring to me that her goal truly is to help. Her passion shines through in her wisdom and understanding of parent-child relationships. I was pleasantly surprised when I implemented her suggestions later that evening; not only was I more calm with my two youngest, but they also corrected their behavior as I have been asking of them for over 3 months! Thank you Rebecca!"

Sincerely,

"Let’s face it, there are times when (as parents), we all could all use a little extra support, practical information, and good advice.  Rebecca Magby ( Everything Baby, LLC)  is who we turned to with our own parenting concerns.  After several sessions, we were able to target some of the underlying problems, create some household rules, routines, and develop a plan to improve sleep!

I particularly enjoyed Rebecca’s flexibility (e.g., we conducted our sessions over Skype after the kids went to bed, which was ultra-convenient).  Plus, Rebecca offered refreshing perspectives on how to manage common problems without simply relying on time-outs, punishments, and rewards.  Here is a bit about Rebecca from her website:

'Rebecca Magby has been studying child development, psychological theories, behavioral issues, and prescription free solutions to ADD/ADHD symptoms for the past 15 years while working one-on-one with children of every age group.

Her career with children started as a preschool teacher where she also learned observation skills, which she still uses today to better understand families and their requirements.

Rebecca is a Certified Professional Nanny who’s worked with many families with different needs.  In 2005, Rebecca returned to school studying psychology and child development while staying active in her Nanny Family’s life.

Over the years, Rebecca has focused much of her training and development in behavior modification and nonprescription solutions to ADD/ADHD symptoms. Currently, Rebecca is finishing Academy for Coaching Parents International’s coaching courses, and later this year will receive her certification as an ACPI Certified Coach™ for Parent and Families, (ACPI CCP).'

While problems will always exist, MANY improvements have been noticeable in our own family due to Rebecca’s suggestions and coaching.  If you need some support, we (at Portland Family Adventures) recommend contacting her."
